Elsevier has announced the appointment of Suzanne BeDell as the managing director of its science and technology books business unit.
Ms BeDell is a publishing industry veteran, having worked in the sector for more than 28 years, during which she has held leadership positions at a variety of different science and technology publishing and digital information businesses.
In her new capacity at Elsevier - which is responsible for imprints such as Academic Cell Press, as well as online resources including ScienceDirect - she will lead the company's efforts in developing print and electronic products to serve customer needs.
Youngsuk Chi, chief executive officer at Elsevier Science and Technology, said: "The science and technology books group plays a key role in Elsevier's strategic growth so we are delighted to have someone of Suzanne's calibre to take on the leadership of the group."
