Account Manager

Territory - South-West

Main Purpose: Responsible for the maintenance and generation of new business in Abbott accounts. Based upon experience and performance an Account Manager may progress to a Senior Account Manager and then to an Executive Account Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
• Achieving regional sales and activity targets.
• Organising own time effectively to maximise customer contact and take advantage of new business opportunities in existing accounts.
• Consistent use of core selling models to include Consultative Selling and value delivery at the appropriate call points. Up to and including physicians, clinicians, or scientists located outside the laboratory.
• Demonstrate product and market knowledge. Execute all marketing programs, promotions and document program delivery in the CRM or alternative tacking system
• Efficient management of all administrative responsibilities including daily CRM utilization, weekly reports, conference call participation as required, and weekly expense reports.
• To develop effective territory plans (by customer) to include all opportunities for growth, retention and extension of Abbott Accounts following operational guidelines as outlined by the National Sales Manager.
• To execute territory/customer specific plans approved by the National Sales Manager to drive for results and achieve: overall territory growth (both £ and %), key product sales, Develop and update forecasts weekly.
• Consistent and regular communication with relevant engineers and or lead engineer within patch demonstrating joint working on Abbott Accounts. Communication can take the form of conference call attendance, meetings in the field or joint filed travel followed by appropriate feedback to NSM on achievements and actions plans for appropriate accounts
• Utilize appropriate business tools to enhance account profitability (i.e. increase utilization, selling service etc.) and customer satisfaction.
• Working effectively with RCM and others (as required) to maximize account opportunities and account retention.
• Manage Abbott MSC accounts by recording the performance of these customers in line with their KPIs in terms of finance, service and value of the contract. Using business reviews to drive growth of the contract, through new business, adding assays, service sales and additional third parties.
• Ensure customer awareness of Abbott strategies.
• Attend regional and national meetings as required.
• Conduct account and territory business reviews as required

• Maintain excellent customer/business relationships.
• Achieve objective deadlines.
• Execute national strategies within existing accounts in line with LRP.
• Manage and maintain and grow and protect existing business.
• Accurate and timely reporting
