Working at Zenopa: a rewarding career

“Humans seek results for the sake of results, simply because we derive pleasure from accomplishment” (Happiness research Institute, 2015). Making goals and reaching them is the fourth most important influencer in employee engagement according to the Happiness Research Institute. But is it realistic to expect all employees to be motivated by simply doing their job and meeting expected goals? Reward means different things to different people. Pay and benefits are obviously important in attracting, retaining and engaging employees but a range and mix of financial and non-financial options is much better to reward people holistically and recognise their contributions creatively by tailoring reward to what gives them the most sense of accomplishment.

“"Humans seek results for the sake of results, simply because we derive pleasure from accomplishment"“

At Zenopa we find out what attracts and inspires our current and future people and explore how best we can meet these needs - as well as meeting the requirements of the business. Our performance-related reward scheme significantly enhances earning potential for those who are financially motivated, and let’s be honest, an attractive salary and commission structure is the primary driver for many employees in commercial roles like recruitment! However, through provision of agile working options, Zenopa recognises that there is more to quality of life than money alone. Zenopians can balance their working lives with their health and wellbeing needs by building-in activities into their working week like playing a sport or taking quality family time, which pays back dividends in terms of better physical and mental health and increased productivity. One Zenopa colleague became a puppy-mum during lockdown and uses her flexi time to walk her dog and to attend gym classes; other Zenopians benefit from a 4-day working week and an extra day to spend with their little ones or carry out other caring responsibilities; others volunteer, and for those that are coming towards the end of their apprenticeship degrees, they really appreciate the ability to flex study-time around work as assignment deadlines draw near! Whatever someone’s circumstances, life stage, commitments, past-times or personal drivers, Zenopa strives to reward its employees thoughtfully and holistically. And we feel the benefit personally and professionally. Keep up the good work Zenopians, you’re doing great!
