TERRITORY: Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth (South West Corner)

CLIENTS: Veterinary Surgeries

PRODUCTS: Full Range of Feline and Canine Royal Canin Products including Life Stage as well as prescription diets

Main purpose of the job : To manage a territory in order to deliver Royal Canin's Veterinary business objectives. This will involve visiting, building rapport, educating and selling to Veterinary practices on the VBM's territory. Objectives are to gain distribution and increase sales of Royal Canin's Veterinary portfolio.
To manage a territory consisting of up to 400 practices.
To manage a territory with an estimated MAT of £1million.
To manage local budget spend of £6,500 pa.
To work within a team of 17 other VBM's and a total team of 26.


Main Duties :
Implement sector strategy on territory. Measured via direct volume performance.

- Ensure maximum distribution of Royal Canin Veterinary products.

- Ensure maximum presence and display for Royal Canin products in veterinary practices, with merchandising playing a key role.

-Ensure that practice staff are trained on Royal Canin products and when to use them. Secure recommendation.

- Deliver centrally set promotional programme in target accounts to gain maximum volume and display.

- Monitor and track promotional spend to ensure it remains within local budget requirements.

- Contact all accounts as per coverage targets set by Veterinary Sales Director.

Deliver long-term growth in all key accounts.

- Adopt 'business-management' mind-set to grow Royal Canin volumes, profitably, in key accounts in the long-term.

- In addition to standard mechanics, seek to influence account and consumers via all appropriate methods (including, but not limited to, puppy parties, product meetings, staff training, open days, local competitions, mail shots etc.)
Input into key focus area projects and steering groups as required ( various ).

- Examples include the collation of data, feedback ( trade/consumer), and the recommendation of ideas ( product, promotions, POS etc. ) for key areas such as Lifestage and Clinical Diets.

Person Profil

Sales experience is essential; nutritional knowledge or a veterinary nursing qualification would be an advantage.
